Loudoun Design Cabinet to Unveil Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Awards

The Loudoun County Design Cabinet will unveil the winners in the 2013 Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence program Wednesday, June 5. The awards presentation will be at approximately 5 p.m. in the Loudoun County Government Board Room during the Board of Supervisors meeting. The public is encouraged to attend.

The cabinet formed the Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Program nine years ago to recognize outstanding projects and architectural elements countywide. The group recruits for public nominations each winter, and this year the Design Cabinet selected 12 commercial, residential and public-sector winners. The annual student panel of Loudoun County high school and college students also selected a “Students’ Choice Award” which will be announced during the event.

The Design Cabinet was formed in 2002 by the Loudoun Department of Economic Development with a mission of encouraging and recognizing high quality and iconic design in the county. The cabinet is comprised of professional architects, planners, and engineers.
