Two of the most important factors for opening a fitness club are population density and household income. With more than 51,000 residents, Leesburg is Virginia’s biggest town and the Loudoun County seat of government. Loudoun has also held the highest median income of any county in the U.S. for a decade, making it an ideal place, on paper, to open up a fitness-related business.

The owners of Five Peaks Power Yoga in Leesburg can personally attest to those success factors, after celebrating their grand opening in early December 2017.

“The people of Loudoun embody community. Loudouners are welcoming, always willing to lend a hand, and passionate about taking care of ourselves and the beautiful land we live in,” said Lauren Christian, one of three co-founders. “Five Peaks is honored to call Loudoun County home and excited to contribute our gifts to this community.”

Five Peaks Power Yoga took over our @loudounbiz Instagram account between January 23-27 and showed that inner peace goes hand-in-hand with business success.

“The practice of yoga gives us access to this powerful way of being, stemming from true connection – to our bodies, to ourselves, to those around us, and to the present moment,” said Five Peaks co-founder Colure Caulfield. “It’s been such a joy connecting with yogis from every walk of life, and watching everyone come together to build this brand new home in Loudoun County.”

Loudoun is home to a top education system and innovators of all ages, with a group of Loudoun County Public School students from Sterling recently landing $150,000 of investment for an app called Covert.ly.

Five Peaks’ third co-founder Megan Lamb noted how fitness can improve performance for people of all ages.

“The kids of Loudoun County are up to big things. Whether a budding writer, scientist or athlete, the practice of yoga and mindfulness equips kids with the tools they need to thrive,” she said. “I feel so inspired and blessed to be a part of their journey by leading our Treehouse Kids Yoga program here at Five Peaks.”
