
With a record number of new refugees, asylees, and SIV holders arriving in the United States, the workforce development system is being tasked with finding suitable training and employment services to individuals with work authorization. Meanwhile, the Office of Refugee and Resettlement is also providing career training, workforce development, English language classes, employment opportunities and other support services. As new arrivals have various educational and employment backgrounds, it is beneficial for Employment and Training Administration (ETA) funded workforce development staff to be familiar with local and state refugee resettlement staff and services to optimize available services.
