From Great Ideas to Global Impact: A Talk with Andrew Byrnes

Technology executive, attorney, and investor Andrew Byrnes will discuss the path from developing innovative ideas to achieving broad impact, including key legal issues and business imperatives. Leveraging experiences from his decades-long career in the private and public sectors working alongside innovators and entrepreneurs, Byrnes will offer insights on leadership, building high-functioning teams, engaging policymakers, and other critical stakeholders, and navigating existing and emerging regulatory regimes and challenges.

An attorney and operations executive with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of technology and innovation, law, business, and public policy, Andrew Byrnes is the Deputy General Counsel and Global Head of Public Affairs at Getaround, the leading global and digital car sharing marketplace. He is also the Founder and Lead Adventurer of Adventures in Syncopation, a community exploring how music and performing arts experience supercharges successful entrepreneurship in any field and supporting impactful performer-entrepreneurs. He has served as the presidentially appointed Chief of Staff of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the principal general counsel for Uber’s global rideshare business, a cross-functional legal and operations executive at two venture-backed technology companies, and a partner in several major law firms. Andrew graduated from Stanford University and Harvard Law School.
