The puff, the layers, the texture! Texture is my favorite design element to play with, in my cookie designs, and in all aspects of my life…(when asked the color palette for my wedding, I would literally tell people “dusty blue, mauvey, organic florals, and lots of textures” 🤪

Why are we smiling?? SO many reasons! When we return in March 2022 to doing tours, it will be with our incredible new team members, a newly painted van, and more fabulous upgraded high end experiences for our guests!

So we decided to hit tuscaroramills for an incredible lunch and sips to celebrate amazing things to come... this elk burger and mexican chicken soup hit the SPOT- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐star all the way!!

We did it again! Last night at the annual Loudoun Wine Awards Gala, our 2020 Viognier was awarded the Chairman’s Grand Award for Best in Show!

This is the second time we have received this prestigious award for our Viognier - the 2018 vintage won two years ago!

We are incredibly humbled by this recognition. It’s a testament to the hard work of Sevi in the vineyard, Nate and co. at walshfamilywine in the cellar, and to our amazing slice of land on the mountainside in beautiful Bluemont.

Viognier is our most planted varietal (and Loree’s favorite 😎) here at O1V. And like all of our wines, it’s single vineyard and single varietal. Our wines are a reflection of our farm, and Mother Nature deserves a lot of credit for this because what’s in the bottle, is truly a reflection of this place.

We’ve always said that we feel very fortunate to be a part of the Loudoun Wine community. It’s collaborative, supportive and inspiring. While we are excited to accept this award, the competition is really about celebrating Loudoun and what’s possible here. The wines from this region are exceptional and so are the people that grow and make them.

We raise our glasses to all of the medal recipients and award winners last night. Thanks to Neil, Aimee and the Loudoun Wineries Association team for their efforts in organizing and executing this celebration of Loudoun Wine. This is a special place to grow and make wine!
