SUMMARY:HR Virginia 2023 Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:This in-person conference is an opportunity for our community to celebrate our contributions and become inspired by and participate in where we are going. Embrace future possibilities for improving ourselves and building relationships\, in the world of work. \nIf the last few years have taught us anything\, it’s that we need to Recharge\, Refresh and Re-engage.  Recharge as human resource professionals\, focusing on our mental and physical health as well as those we support. HR professionals need to Refresh to stay relevant in the ever-changing working environment and be more creative to recruit and keep the talent that drives organizational business goals. HR must Re-engage to steward a culture of respect and equity at all levels while delivering the business strategy\, driving workforce performance and engagement\, and enhancing the experience for everyone. This conference is sure to provide you with the tools to do just that.en

SUMMARY:Janelia Conference- The Role of Adhesion Complexes\, Cell Recognition\, and Neural Activity during Circuit Assembly
DESCRIPTION:This meeting will focus on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the formation of precise patterns of synaptic connectivity. Over the past decade\, considerable progress has been made in uncovering the molecular identity and structure of adhesion complexes at synapses\, diverse cell surface recognition molecules contributing to wiring specificity\, and the role of activity in sculpting the neural circuitry. In parallel\, detailed connectomics at the light microscopy and EM level have uncovered the extraordinary specificity and complexity of connectivity\, and single cell sequencing has defined cell types and cell-type specific patterns of cell-surface protein expression during circuit assembly. Light microscopic techniques from super-resolution to expansion microscopy and live imaging have led to important advances in uncovering cell biological mechanisms of circuit assembly. Presentations and discussions will highlight important advances in the field and consider current challenges and future directions.
