SUMMARY:Empowering Public Workforce Development Professionals: Enhancing Skills for Serving Veterans (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Whether state and local workforce development staff are funded by WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker funds\, Wagner-Peyser\, or Jobs for Veterans State Grants\, all programs share a common goal when serving veteran jobseekers: ensure the best possible employment and training outcomes for veterans. On this WorkforceGPS webinar\, staff from the Employment and Training Administration\, the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service and National Veterans’ Training Institute (NVTI)\, will provide a refresher on the roles and responsibilities of state and local workforce development staff to ensure effective\, integrated\, and seamless service delivery to veterans. In addition\, this session will provide an overview of the many professional development resources available to veteran service providers through NVTI. These resources and highlights will support the veteran customer experience through the American Job Center experience.

SUMMARY:Fluorescent Proteins and Biological Sensors VII
DESCRIPTION:In the seventh installment of this exciting conference\, we will once again showcase the development of cutting-edge tools and technology for imaging\, from cells to intact animals. Sessions will cover the design and discovery of new fluorescent proteins (and intriguing alternatives)\, and their incorporation into sensors for signaling molecules and cellular states. Innovative imaging modalities making use of such reagents\, as well as biological discoveries gleaned from such experiments\, will also be presented. We hope that the meeting will present a clear picture of how far these tools have come in recent years\, and what additional reagents and capabilities are still needed to advance biology. \nThe meeting will begin at 6pm on the first day and end by 1pm on the last. \nApplication deadline: June 9\, 2023 (11:59 p.m. ET)

SUMMARY:Hilb Group: Benefits Compliance Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:We know that benefits compliance is complex and the questions that arise are seemingly endless. Believe it or not\, many employers wrestle with the same compliance issues – so we’ve compiled the questions we’ve been asked most frequently this year\, and we’re ready to give you the answers you need.  \n  \nAdditionally\, we thought it would be fun to up the ante – so the webinar will include an interactive benefits quiz. We’ll draw two names from the list of participants with correct answers. The winners will receive Hilb Group swag to celebrate their amazing compliance knowledge (and we promise\, it isn’t a compliance manual – we’re not giving that up!)

Working together\, participants develop and fine-tune their ideas\, critically examining every part and determining the next steps through real-time feedback from people in the community using a simplified version of the Business Model Canvas. This approach enables entrepreneurs to rapidly uncover flaws in their concepts and find viable models more quickly. Participants leave the program with a deeper understanding of how to create a sustainable business\, articulate their models\, and repeat the process with the next great idea.
