SUMMARY:Get compliant with new DoD regs: Learn about discounted services to help
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about the new cybersecurity requirements mandated under DFARS Subpart 204.73. Additionally\, you will hear about funding that can pay up to 80% of the costs\, so that small businesses can more cost-effectively comply with this standard. All government contracts should be upgrading their cybersecurity processes for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)\, particularly those doing work with DoD. A local organization\, GENEDGE\, has been funded by DoD and the Virginia Department of Veteran’s Affairs to execute Virginia’s Defend CUI Program (DEFENDCUI-VA). The GENEDGE program helps Virginia companies improve their cybersecurity processes in order to meet these new requirements. The DFARS 7012 regulation has been included in all contracts since October\, 2017 and includes this clause about covered defense information and CUI. Effective September 2020 this requirement will include a CMMC rating system for all DoD RFPs\, with higher ratings being considered preferable for awards. \nGENEDGE’s grant funding helps DoD Suppliers by developing a system security plan\, incident response plan\, run a vulnerability assessment\, obtain a gap analysis to the NIST 800-171 specification\, and create a POAM (Plan of Action and Milestones) for future remediation. The grant is also available to help provide services to increase your cyber posture\, close security gaps\, and create policy documents that support your cyber risk management. The following link explains the grant program: https://www.genedge.org/program/virginias-defend-cui-program/ \nLunch is generously provided by GENEDGE.
