Our speaker was David Crawford from CGI Federal on the topic of “Securing the Forgotten Risk Vector: Firmware.” David presented a compelling overview of this topic and outlined the threat (Where is it? Why does it matter?) and best practices to deal with the threat. There were lot of compliments for David after his talk\, so great job! \nJanuary 9 Details\nWe are happy to announce that our featured speaker on January 9\, 2024 will be Anil Varma\, Founder and President of InterSec\, a Leesburg-based cybersecurity service provider to small and medium-sized businesses. \nAnil is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with nearly 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors. His areas of specialty include cybersecurity program development; Security Engineering and Architecture; Threat and Vulnerability Management; and Governance\, Risk\, and Compliance. \nAnil holds a MS in Computer Science from Bombay University and holds various cybersecurity certifications\, including CISSP\, CISM\, CCSP\, and CEH\, among others. He is involved in various NIST Communities of Interest including Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF)\, Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management (C-SCRM)\, and Zero Trust (ZT). \nAnil will be joined by Nick Mistry\, SVP & CISO at Lineaje\, a Software Supply Chain Security provider. At Lineaje\, Nick is driving methods to address the multiple challenges in securing the software supply chain including how organizations adopt secure coding practices with the aid of advanced AI technologies.
