Loudoun Tech Startups: Copyright, Patent, and Trademark Law-How to Create & Protect Your Own IP Assets

January 15 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

As a small business owner, intellectual property is probably low on your priority list. Who has time to think about trademarks, copyrights, and patents when you have other pressing matters to deal with?

In this intellectual property (IP) law workshop for small businesses, you will learn the benefits of having a good handle on IP issues even before you launch your business!

We will cover the basics of copyright, patent, and trademark law, how to create and protect your own IP assets, and how to establish best practices to reduce the risk of future lawsuits. We welcome any specific questions you may have!

Simon Law, PLLC is a boutique IP law firm that believes that small businesses should have access to affordable legal advice to protect their valuable intellectual property.

Phyllis Simon is a registered patent attorney with over a decade of experience in intellectual property law, representing domestic and foreign clients. Her background as a chemical engineer gives her a depth of knowledge across chemistry, physics, engineering and in some cases biology. Her academic and hands-on experiences facilitate an understanding of the unique needs of inventors and how to patent their ideas.
