Celebrate Life on the Farm at Loudoun’s 30th Fall Farm Tour

The Loudoun Fall Farm Tour is back for its 30th year, offering an incredible opportunity for Loudoun County residents and visitors from across the region to enjoy life on the farm for a weekend. Participating farms and farm stops will be open and available to the public between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22, 2023. There is no cost to participate, and the event will occur rain or shine.

Fun for all ages, the tour will showcase both traditional and unique farms in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The event provides a wonderful educational experience and includes an array of hands-on activities and demonstrations, including bee-hive presentations, cut-your-own flower bouquets, donkey photo ops, and more. The 41 farms and ag-related businesses on the tour reflect Loudoun’s agricultural heritage and highlights the diversity of the county’s agricultural economy. “There are so many wonderful farms to tour this year, and we want visitors to get the most out of the weekend,” Loudoun Economic Development Executive Director Buddy Rizer said. “The fall harvest season is always an incredible time to showcase Loudoun Made, Loudoun Grown products and provide fun farm activities for visitors from Loudoun and all over the Washington D.C. region.”

The tour, a self-guided driving experience, can be started at any of the participating farms. Collector maps can be found in advance at all participating farms and other Western Loudoun locations.  Visitors can also learn more about the individual farms and plan their trip online with an interactive map at LoudounFarmTour.com.

“What started as a Fall Leaf Colors Tour 30 years ago has evolved into a signature event that allows Loudoun’s diverse agri-business industry to invite residents and visitors “back to their roots” while exploring life on the farm for a weekend,” stated John Magistro, Loudoun Economic Development’s Agriculture Business Development Officer. “The Department of Economic Development is proud to promote agricultural success in Loudoun over the past three decades through this event and looks forward to supporting current and prospective farmers moving forward.”
