Stemtree of Ashburn opened in November 2019 with the goal of providing personalized learning experiences to help every student in grades K-12 achieve academic success. When a student is enrolled at Stemtree, a learning plan is created based on a grade-level assessment they take on day one. This helps parents and educators identify knowledge gaps as each learning plan is built to accommodate students’ individual needs. The assessment also helps to narrow focus in certain areas but does not limit students to those subjects. Success is measured with grade-level completion assessments and progress reports, helping students grow within their academic studies. Stemtree works to open students’ minds to new concepts in addition to existing ones, broadening ideas for their individual futures.

A large part of what Stemtree does is bring out the inner scientist in their students. They specialize in teaching concepts in science, coding, engineering, electronics/technology, robotics, and math, exploring the fundamentals and the practical theories behind them. Hitesh and Pavan shared that exploration and the ability to perform hands-on experiments keeps students engaged, challenges them to think logically and critically, and expands their curiosity to learn how things work. Using tools such as Scratch (coding software for kids), LEGO EV3 robotics kits, along with cause and effect science experiments, students are exposed to a learning environment that empowers them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in school and beyond.
