In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s understandable if you missed out on some marketing opportunities for your #LoudounPossible business. But while I have your attention, here are four free marketing tools that Loudoun Economic Development will market your business through the crisis, into recovery and beyond.

Take Loudoun Home

Launched in April as a collaborative business support campaign, Take Loudoun Home is dedicated to highlighting the businesses that remain open during this difficult time.

Working to connect you with target customers, you can apply to appear in our Restaurant, Retail and Services map, or our Loudoun Made Loudoun Grown farms and rural businesses map. Already, tens of thousands of Loudoun customers have checked out the nearly 500 businesses that have signed up to participate.

Is your business doing something truly special? We’d love to feature you in our Business Stories section, as well as our Virtual Tours. If you think you have what it takes, please email our marketing team.

#LoudounPossible Pod

In an effort to spotlight business resources and innovation during the crisis, we also recently launched the #LoudounPossible Pod, a podcast hosted by our Executive Director Buddy Rizer.

Several podcast episodes are released each week and have spotlighted expertise like Sen. Mark Warner explaining the CARES Act, experts discussing creative business financing, and a number of innovative business pivots.

Is your business at the cutting edge of innovation, or do you have a message that business owners should hear? Please sign up to be interviewed and we’ll be in touch:

Loudoun Made Loudoun Grown Marketplace

The Loudoun Made Loudoun Grown Marketplace is one of Loudoun’s free marketing tools for rural businesses. COVID-19 has dramatically affected buying patterns, causing restaurants to stop ordering food from local farms. In order to connect farms with consumers in a socially distant way, we launched an online version of a traditional farmers market.

For customers, its as easy as browsing through nearly 500 products that are available for delivery to a convenient, centrally located pick-up location. For farmers and other rural businesses, it becomes the free online storefront that you always wanted.

To sign up as a vendor, you must join the Loudoun Made, Loudoun Grown program, which also offers a range of other marketing benefits:

Loudoun Jobs Board

As Loudoun County looks towards recovery, job placement will be an incredibly important indicator of success. Tens of thousands of Loudouners have filed for unemployment in recent weeks, which creates opportunities for businesses that might be scaling up in response to the crisis.

Right now, the Loudoun Jobs portal pulls job listings from more than 10,000 sources, giving a nearly-complete look at every available job in the county. But if you’re a business owner, we invite you to send us the link to the jobs board on your website, so that the service can “crawl” it for data.

Not every website works with this system, but it could be one of the free marketing tools that helps your business grow:
