Construction to bring the Metrorail’s Silver Line to Loudoun County is more than 86 percent complete, according to the latest figures from the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.

This second phase of construction will complete the 23-mile extension that ties Loudoun County’s booming economy into the region’s workforce, providing ample business opportunities and rail access to Dulles International Airport.

In preparation for the future commuter traffic at these stations, construction is also ongoing for the Metro parking garages that will service the stations.

Ashburn Station, located near the Dulles Greenway and the Loudoun County Parkway, completed construction on a 1,500-space parking garage earlier this year on the north side of the Dulles Greenway, and is already open to the public.

More than just a garage, the structure also has 18,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, with plans to attract retail including an urban grocer.

Garages are also under construction on the south side of the Greenway at Ashburn Station, as well as at the future Loudoun Gateway Station (at Route 606). SB Ballard Construction is contributing to both efforts and produced this video to show off the progress:

The Loudoun Gateway Station garage will provide 1,965 parking spaces, while the south side garage for Ashburn Station provides 1,540 parking spaces.

Metrorail will open in Loudoun County in 2020, but opportunities to locate your business here are available right now. To learn more about space you can buy or lease near Loudoun’s future Metro stations, check out our webpage or call 1-800-LOUDOUN.
