Logos aren’t just pretty little images that decorate company letterhead. They are a symbol or design that illustrates the identity, mission and goals of an organization. Logos are not created willy-nilly; they are strategically crafted to ensure the right message comes across.
Effective logos tell customers your business name and enhance your overall brand. The ideal logo is eye-catching and has powerful symbolic associations that connect a business to its audience’s memory.
A logo alone is not a company’s brand, but rather one avenue through which its identity is shared.
What’s the story behind Loudoun Economic Development’s logo?
Economic Development’s logo has two components: the mark and the type. The star-shaped illustration conveys a hub and the idea of convergence (like the convergence of technology and agribusiness). It also uses “negative space” (the space around the chevrons) to suggest a central location.
The two orange chevrons represent Loudoun’s physical relationship to Washington, D.C. The colors represent energy and growth. The font represents a modern, forward-thinking organization and is simple and powerful.
Look closely and you’ll see Loudoun Economic Development’s logo all over the place—not just on business cards, name tags, building signs and ads, but at Dulles International Airport and major business events around the world.
