Did you know that your Loudoun business can get a tax break for allowing employees to work remotely?

Teleworking is a trend on the rise, with a 2016 survey of Loudoun residents showing that more than 27 percent of responding households have at least one member who telecommutes.

Virginia businesses with a telework program may receive up to $50,000 in tax credits for telework-related expenses, including upgrading laptops and security software for teleworkers.

Up to $1,200 in tax relief can be granted for each teleworking employee.

To qualify, your business must be a private (for-profit) company located in Virginia.  Additionally, you must file Form TEL-1 Telework Expenses Tax Credit Reservation Application by October 31, 2017, to qualify for expenses that will be incurred in 2018.

Telework!VA also offers free technical assistance to companies starting or expanding their telework program and can also assist with tax credit questions.
