The Design Cabinet has held the annual “Signatures of Loudoun” program since 2005. The community is invited to submit nominations each winter, and the projects are voted on by the cabinet and a group of participating high school and college students each spring. This is the fourth year that the cabinet has selected a “Vision in Design” winner to recognize “design excellence demonstrated in the envisioning and realization of exemplary planning and architectural design, and its effect on the look of Loudoun County.”
Economic Development’s Executive Director Buddy Rizer noted, “Bob Klancher served on the Planning Commission for 12 years before he passed away in 2016, and I was privileged to work with him on a number of key developments such as Lansdowne and One Loudoun. He truly was a visionary, and more than deserved this posthumous award.”
