For some couples, it’s the breathtaking views of the mountains and vineyards that attract them to Loudoun for a wedding. For others, it’s the stunning architecture of a historic home or the luxurious amenities that accompany a reception at a local resort that make them want to tie the knot here in wine country.
With so many diverse venues and scenic backdrops, Loudoun has become a premier destination for weddings, and one where couples can find that perfect location to fit their style and budget.
To help connect couples to the countless opportunities, Visit Loudoun will host its annual Weddings in Loudoun Open House on March 19. During this county-wide event, more than 30 venues will open their doors for couples to tour and meet with onsite wedding planners, and more than 50 wedding vendors will showcase their services.
The free, self-guided tour is available from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. New this year, attendees can begin their day with a complimentary continental breakfast at West Belmont Place from 10 a.m. to noon.
Open house participants range from wineries, farms and historic estates to bed and breakfasts and hotels. While at each venue, attendees will also be able to meet with a variety of service providers that include florists, photographers, caterers, transportation companies, wedding designers and more.
The annual open house is unlike a traditional bridal show, giving brides and grooms a chance to see facilities first-hand and have direct access all day to the onsite wedding professionals that will help make their day a success. Each venue will also be offering grand prize drawings that include everything from free engagement photos to a complimentary stay at a B&B.
The weddings industry is an important part of Visit Loudoun’s tourism strategy, as weddings bring visitors to the county. Visit Loudoun has proactively marketed to brides and grooms for many years and has a dedicated staff member to provide couples with a variety of complimentary services that help ease the stress of planning for the big day. Visit Loudoun not only provides welcome letters and brochures for guest bags, but also helps couples secure everything from room blocks and venues to musicians, florists and any other service they need to create their dream wedding.
