What is the SBDC?
The Small Business Development Center is part of a statewide network formed by the U.S. Small Business Administration and George Mason University. It offers counseling and training in how to start and grow a business. Loudoun Economic Development partners with the Leesburg SBDC on training and networking events.
What types of businesses does the SBDC help?
The SBDC serves new Loudoun startups, in addition to existing companies ready to grow. Growth may be adding a first employee, or preparing to double operations. It’s important to understand that the services provided by the SBDC are for small businesses at a variety of stages.
What types of programs does the SBDC offer?
Foundational pieces such as choosing a legal structure, to more complex issues such as marketing. Business creators at various stages can determine the best use of their time by choosing programs that match their current needs.
The SBDC also partners with community leaders and subject-matter experts from the Small Business Administration and the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Program to lead seminars.
