Digital Realty Trust has more than 130 data center properties in over 30 markets worldwide. However, as Senior Vice-President David Caron says, Loudoun County is one of its top three markets. Specifically, Digital Realty’s Ashburn campus is its largest, and will top out at 2 million square-feet at full build-out.

Recently, Digital Realty held an event to formally announce “Building K,” the next phase in their expansion. Building K is set to include 16 1,200 kW data center suites with a 19.2 MW total capacity.  Construction is already partially completed, with two suites already available, and two more expected to lease out in the first quarter of 2015.

Loudoun Economic Development Director Buddy Rizer lauded the data center provider, saying, “Digital Realty has been an excellent community partner and a really important cornerstone in Data Center Alley. Their investment, along with that of the other major industry players is a large reason why Northern Virginia is going to be the top data center market in 2015.”
