RagingWire Data Centers recently opened a 150,000 square-foot facility in Ashburn, Virginia. Loudoun County has become an internationally recognized hub for data center operations, and is known as “the bullseye of America’s Internet.” In addition to the county’s abundant fiber, data centers flock to Loudoun because of our low energy costs, targeted tax incentives, and staff expertise in getting facilities open on time.

“RagingWire found the perfect location and the perfect environment in Loudoun,” said Loudoun, Virginia Economic Development Assistant Director Buddy Rizer. “Economic Development worked closely with staff in other county departments to meet RagingWire’s aggressive timeline,” Rizer continued. The modern build-to-suit facility was completed in just 18 months.

“RagingWire is grateful for the support of the Virginia business and government community and Loudoun County as we grow our company from coast to coast,” said George Macricostas, chairman, CEO, and founder of RagingWire. “We are committed to attracting Fortune 1000 enterprises, the top .com web businesses, and innovators from cloud computing to software-as-a-service (SaaS) to leverage our 100-percent-available data center in Virginia.”

Governor Robert McDonnell joined members of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and other dignitaries and business leaders to celebrate the ribbon cutting. The governor told the company, “We are pleased you are joining Virginia’s high tech community,  and appreciate the investments you are making in the commonwealth, and your efforts to drive business and economic development.”

RagingWire’s journey to Loudoun started two years ago when Rizer began working with RagingWire executives on a potential East Coast location. “This deal was a direct result of our aggressive outreach campaign,” Rizer noted. “Once we were able to put Loudoun on their radar, we think the choice was simple.”

“Buddy is an unfailing ally of the data center industry and an incredible boon to economic development in Loudoun County,” stated RagingWire Vice President and General Manager Daniel Golding. “He is my first call when I need help with any government-related issue. Buddy’s involvement is key in RagingWire’s future expansion in Loudoun County.”

RagingWire joins big industry names such as Equinix and Digital Realty who have made the move to Ashburn’s “data center alley.” To learn more about Loudoun’s data center market, visit our data center information page
