Data Centers
Loudoun's Data Center Alley is the East Coast data center hub-- and we still have room to grow.

“Among the big… wholesale data center developers and co-location managed service providers, if you’re not in Loudoun, you’re planning to be in Loudoun—or you’re planning to be in a different line of business.”

— Brett Rogers, Mark G. Anderson Critical Environments Consultant

Loudoun's Data Center Alley is currently home to more than 60 data centers, with more than 3,000 technology companies inside. That's 9 million square feet currently operating or under development. Our data center industry is not only thriving, but is continuing to grow, with an additional 125 acres of land already bought for future data center expansion.

Why do top companies like Latisys, RagingWire and Equinix continue to choose Loudoun? We specialize in build-to-suit opportunities for co-location operations and offer pre-certified data center sites. Our infrastructure is built for data centers. Not only do we offer direct access to one of the largest Internet Exchange Points and a multiple-source lit fiber infrastructure, but we offer abundant, affordable power redundancy with energy rates among the lowest on the East Coast.

Loudoun County also offers an array of incentives and financing opportunities, including a special 6% sales and use tax exemption on servers, generators, chillers, and server-related equipment.
