- Virginia Department of Business Assistance. This economic development agency is dedicated to the growth and success of the Commonwealth’s business community. Established by the Virginia General Assembly in 1996, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance ensures that businesses and entrepreneurs have a principal point of contact with state government for inquiries and services.
- Virginia Employment Commission. The VEC offers policy development, job placement, workforce information, transition and training services to promote economic growth and stability.
- Northern Virginia Workforce Investment Board. Formed by seven counties and cities (Fairfax, Fairfax City, City of Falls Church, Loudoun, Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park) under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, the Workforce Investment Board administers federally funded employment & training programs,and supports public/private partnerships involving local government, business and industry, labor, education and training institutions, employment services, and community support organizations.
