Our focus at the Department of Economic Development is business, but our vision goes beyond helping companies locate and expand here. We are engaged in a variety of community development initiatives with a goal of sustaining and enhancing Loudoun's overall excellence for years to come. A sampling of recent projects includes:
- Medical Automation International – a international-level conference bringing healthcare providers and administrators together to learn about new health improvements and cost saving technologies, as well as contribute tourism dollars to the county’s Convention and Visitors Association and Board of Supervisors’ budgets.

- Wayfinding – a Board of Supervisors-funded project to study and design a system which will welcome, orient and guide those traveling in and around the county.
Design Recognition – Supporting our Design Cabinet as they recognize quality design elements throughout countywide with their annual Signatures of Loudoun Design Awards.
- Agricultural and Forestal District Program Review – an effort by DED to take a state-mandated program and ensure that its enforcement is maximized for the true environmental benefit of the community.
