Engineers, architects, planners, and designers come together in a fusion of creative community problem solving with DED’s Design Cabinet. Whether it’s traffic calming in the east, or village preservation in the west, the Cabinet tackles some of Loudoun’s most interesting challenges in order to help keep Loudoun a community of high quality ecological, urban, architectural, and landscape design.
Design Cabinet projects include the Signatures of Loudoun Awards program, which encourages and recognizes high quality design projects throughout the county; and design charrettes, complimentary brainstorming and problem solving sessions held at the request of both the public and the private sector. While there is no obligation to use the results of the design sessions, several development projects have used them to improve their plans and show public officials new ways to think about these projects.
