Loudoun County Virginia More Than You Think

Access To Points Within
the County and Beyond

Loudoun’s public transportation system mass transit system complements Loudoun’s road network. It’s about making sure your employees can get to you, and you can get to D.C. and beyond. Loudoun currently offers the following types of bus service transit options.

  • Loudoun County Transit, county-owned bus service, operates commuter coaches that pick up at park and ride lots within Loudoun and take passengers to various destinations in the Washington Metropolitan region. Destinations include the West Falls Church Metro Station, Rosslyn, the Pentagon, and numerous stops in the District of Columbia.
  • The Virginia Regional Transportation Association operates a network of local, fixed-route buses that traverse roadways within Loudoun County. There are currently nine fixed bus routes, three of which run exclusively within the Town of Leesburg.
  • An on-demand, or curb to curb, service is also provided by Virginia Regional Transportation Association. This service requires trip requests at least 24 hours in advance.

In the not-so-distant future, the Metrorail Silver Line will be arriving in Loudoun County. There are three Metrorail sites planned in the County: the Dulles Airport terminal, Route 606, and Route 772. Metrorail service will result in travel time savings between Loudoun, Northern Virginia locations, and downtown D.C., offering a viable alternative to automobile travel.
