We know that business site selection is in many ways a competition, but we want you to know that in Loudoun, we define our incentives a little differently, providing personalized, red carpet service. Some of things we can assist you with include the following:
- Tax policy to encourage the growth of targeted cluster industries, such as aerospace, aviation, information communications technology, federal government contracting, and life sciences.
- Leveraging of national and State of Virginia business incentive programs, such as those run through the Virginia Department of Business Assistance, and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
- Dedicated county staff project managers to shepherd businesses through the county development review process.
- The Loudoun County Industrial Development Authority, which upon Board of Supervisors approval, issues tax exempt revenue bonds to non-profit organizations and manufacturers, enabling companies to benefit from lower-than-normal financing rates. This includes airport-related projects, and since its founding in 1975, the IDA has issued nearly eighty bond or refinance issues totaling over one billion dollars.
- The Loudoun Small Business Development Center educates small business owners through individual counseling, monthly business seminars, complimentary training and workshops. The SBDC also assists small business owners through a reference and research library, quarterly electronic newsletter and resource network
