In 2008, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors adopted a cluster-based marketing approach for economic development.
The Department of Economic Development has organized to better accomplish this strategy, having dedicated business development managers to support Loudoun's existing clusters: information and communications technology, aerospace and federal government contractors, international or foreign-owned companies, and high-value agriculture.
The Department is also working towards growing Loudoun's emerging life science cluster, as well as working closely with our partners, Washington Airports Task Force and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, to further Loudoun's airline transportation-related cluster.
